Sermon Series "Peace on Earth" begins Sunday, December 2nd
We live in an age of unrest, conflict, and violence. It is difficult to know how to respond as believers to the “spirit of this age.” The world into
which Jesus was born was also filled with unrest and injustice. The Jews hadn’t heard from God in 400 years. When God broke the silence, he
didn’t do it in a loud, flashy way. Unlike the power-hungry kings and political upheaval of the surrounding culture, the culmination of God’s
rescue mission for humanity began quietly, peacefully.
What can we learn from God’s approach and the responses of the people involved in this incredible story? What we learn from their example
can help us engage our culture as we become agents of change by being agents of peace.
